SOUTH PARK SPORTS ASSOCIATION CELEBRATE FOOTBALL FUNDING SUCCESS press release Footballers in South Park, Reigate, Surrey, were celebrating today following a £328,734 award by the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity. The cash bonanza will allow the South Park Sports Association to build new changing rooms which meet FA Requirements and which will allow all of our teams, both male and female to use them and install new drainage on the existing pitches. The Football Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass roots of the game, constructing modern football facilities, developing football as a force for social cohesion and as a vehicle for education in communities throughout the country. Funded by the FA Premier League, The Football Association, Sport England and the Government, the Football Foundation is the nation’s largest sports charity with a £45m budget going straight into the heart of football. Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation welcomed this latest funding boost: “We warmly congratulate the Association and local FA for their hard work and dedication in securing this award. Grass roots football is the lifeblood of the game in this country which is why it is vital that projects such as this now have the benefit of Foundation cash.” Colin Puplett, Chairman of the South Park Sports Association, said: “We are delighted with the level of grant we have been awarded by the Football Foundation. This project will greatly benefit the local community’s children for many years to come. “The grant together with our own fundraising goes along way to the total cost of the project.
